The Shanghai Guohua Financial Center reflects the unique urban DNA of the North Bund area of Hongkou. Since the rise of International Style of architecture in the 1930s, the local climate and culture are often ignored in the design of high-rise buildings; whether located in New York, Dubai, or Shanghai, there is no significant difference between shape and space. The Shanghai Guohua Financial Center is different; the space and shape of the building draws directly from the surrounding environment, which is mirrored in its outer skin. In addition to being a new landmark building, the tower is setting a new precedent for sustainable growth in Shanghai.
